Internet Explorer 8 Microsoft has recently released a new version of Internet Explorer. The new version includes major improvements to basic browsing and security. Most notably, the new features that Microsoft has included to Internet Explorer 8 are: - In-Private Browsing. This feature deletes all cookies, browsing history, usernames and passwords stored from previous browsing sessions. - Improved SmartScreen filter now warns people when they visit a website known to host malware. This enhanced feature is regularly updated by Microsoft using a database list of sites hosting malware. - InPrivate Filtering can be customized to allow certain sites to get third party information such as stock tickers and RSS feeds. You will notice the icon in the bottom right of your browser. This can be turned on by choosing Safety à InPrivate Filtering. - Active prevention of “clickjacking”. This means that Microsoft claims that it can prevent a hacker from placing an invisible button underneath or on top of a legitimate button and fool you into activating malicious code or publicizing private information. One last important feature included for business is Microsoft’s Compatibility view mode. Many sites that were built for previous versions of Internet Explorer may not display correctly with the newest version. But, by enabling the Compatibility view Internet explorer 8 will revert to previous standards of the internet allowing universal compatibility. In our opinion, the newest version of Internet Explorer makes browsing and searching much easier, faster and more secure - providing an overall superior experience over previous versions of this product.
